HIGH-VACUUM REMEDIATION SERVICE (HVR)

Since 1998 Fruits and Associates, Inc. (FRUITS) has been a leader in providing mobile remediation technology for environmental remediation projects across the southeast. Utilizing our High-Vacuum Remediation (HVR) service developed solely for performing Mobile Enhanced Multi-Phase Extraction (MEME) events, FRUITS can provide a customized HVR event to address site-specific conditions. Our equipment is 100% mobile and is designed to provide a turn-key service for each and every event. At FRUITS safety is our number one goal, therefore all of our HVR units are constructed with redundant fail-safe controls and our technicians are OSHA certified and trained to make safety our first concern. Below is a general outline of our equipment:

01.

Design…

All of our HVR Units are designed utilizing NEMA 7 (explosion proof) guidelines and the entire process is monitored and controlled by an onboard computer with full remote access. This means that during the initial 8-hour event, if all operating conditions are within the established guidelines, the system can continue to operate in an unattended mode for up to an additional 16 hours. If conditions change during this period, the system will safely shut itself down, and immediately notify the technician, who will always be nearby.

02.

Safety…

Safety is our utmost concern. You won’t find any plastic pipe on our equipment! All internal piping is SCH-40 steel flanged piping. All processes are equipped with fail safe switches and temperature sensors with redundancy installed at critical operating points.

03.

Performance…

The extraction process is performed using a 30 horsepower – variable speed – rotary lobe compressor, which is capable of up to 500CFM and 25” of mercury.

04.

Extraction…

There are 4 to 5 individually measured and calculated vacuum ports on each unit. This means that up to five extraction wells can be connected simultaneously while still providing individual extraction well flow rates.

05.

Destruction…

100% of the remediation vapors are incinerated in our 7 million BTU/hr Thermal Oxidizer (THOX) unit, which provides a hydrocarbon destruction rate of approximately 50-75 gallons per hour. All MEME events, even if not required, include off-gas destruction of the extracted vapors at no additional cost to our clients.

06.

PCW Capacity…

Each HVR Unit has the ability to extract and store 3,500 gallons of impacted groundwater for disposal, and FRUITS has tanker trucks available to store an additional 6,000 gallons each, if needed.

07.

Other info….

Each Unit is equipped with specialty, in-house designed site safety equipment. From the high visibility traffic/safety cones, to the low profile aluminum traffic flow ramps which allows traffic to cross over unimpeded.

The key to providing a successful remediation service is getting results and at FRUITS, results are our main focus. From the proposal writing phase to the implementation phase, FRUITS personnel work with clients to gather the most information about a site so we can provide a tailor made event that will meet our client’s goals.

However, producing results is one thing, conveying those results in an in depth and understandable fashion is another. That is why at FRUITS, we prepare a comprehensive report for each and every site. We utilize on-site data logging that can then be transposed into our full color reports giving our clients the ability to directly correlate air flow, vacuum, vapor, and well performance readings across the site. Our reports provide a wide variety of site performance parameters that then can be used to adjust the effectiveness of our system operation and/or provide valuable pilot testing data for use in future system designs.
